4 Days Brunei Cultural Interlude @ Riverview / Palm Garden / Holiday Lodge - Run of the House (4BCI-FIT03-12)
This Brunei city tour gives you a glimpse of Brunei city and the famed Water Village where culture and tradition are passed down from generation to generation. Experience the daily livelihood of the typical villagers and step into their homes to get a home cooking lesson from the local housewives.
Brunei Water Village is the country's national treasure. Locally known as Kampung Air, this water village with houses built on stilts is the largest Malay water village in the world.
The Local Home Cooking Experience provides you with a truly authentic local home experience. You will have the opportunity to observe the Bruneian simple way of life and visit the local market where housewives purchase daily food items for their family meals.
DAY 1
Our guide will meet and greet you upon arrival at Brunei International Airport. You will be transferred to your designated hotel for check-in. You are free for the day at your own leisure.
DAY 2 – BRUNEI CITY & WATER VILLAGE
This tour starts with a visit to Brunei Museum which houses collections of Brunei rich history, Islamic arts and crafts, ancient artefacts, precious ceramics and the history of Brunei oil industry. Proceed further to Sultan Omar Ali Saifuddien Mosque and Sultan Asri Hassanil Bolkiah Mosque which was built to commemorate the 25th anniversary of His Majesty the Sultan's reign. A photo stop will be made at Istana Nurul Iman, the palace of His Majesty the Sultan of Brunei Darussalam. Lunch will be served at a local restaurant. After lunch, you will be visiting the Royal Regalia which was built to commemorate the Silver Jubilee of His Majesty's accession to the throne in 1992.
The tour continue with a boat ride around the largest Malay Water Village in the world locally known as Kampung Air. This living heritage is home to 30,000 people. A visit to the local home will give you an insight into the daily livelihood of the typical villagers. Before your transfer back to the hotel, you will be taken on a visit to Yayasan Shopping Complex.
DAY 3 – LOCAL HOME COOKING EXPERIENCE
The tour starts with a pick up from your hotel. Your guide will take you to a local wet market where you will get the opportunity to observe how the local housewives buy the raw material they needed to prepare a family meal. You are then transferred to a local host's home to meet the entire family and to learn the local culture.
You are most welcome to extend a helping hand in preparing lunch for the day in the kitchen. Here you will get a hands-on experience in preparing a local dish. After lunch, it’s time to mingle with the host family and perhaps be given some recipes. Your tour ends with your transfer back to the hotel.
DAY 4
Breakfast will be served at the hotel. You are free at your own leisure while waiting for your transfer out to the airport.
Participant Guidelines
Non-Muslims are prohibited from entering the mosque on Thursday and Friday.
Tour will cover only the garden area and the mosque compound.

*Child discounted rate is only valid for a child under 12 years old sharing room with two adults
*Maximum of 2 children under 12 years old are allowed to share a room with two adults
*When a single child is sharing a room with an adult, the child will be charged at adult's twin sharing rate
Cancellation Policy
- 20% cancellation fee for any cancellations made upon confirmation
- 50% cancellation fee for any cancellations made less 14 days and more than 7 days prior to departure date
- 100% cancellation fee for any cancellation made less than 7 days prior to departure date
- 100% cancellation fee for no-show cases

*In the case of 2 (two) person per departure, price is based on twin sharing room. If you desire to book a single room each, a single supplement surcharge of B$132 nett per person will be applicable.

*Child who requires an extra bed with breakfast will be charged at 75% of applicable adult twin sharing rate.
*Airport transfer and tours (if any) are on sharing basis. Private arrangement can be made at time of booking and a surcharge of 30% per person will be applicable. Please indicate your preference at time of booking.
